The Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave

This month I participated in a long standing Australian charity event, the Leukaemia Foundation's "World's Greatest Shave", keeping a promise I made to a good friend over a decade ago. Between myself and over 100 sponsors, we managed to raise an incredible $5647 for this amazing charity. The event took place last Saturday in my home town...

And on the stage of the Portland Art's Centre, my marionette Astrid and I performed a bald duet.

A piece I developed while in the U.K, to a beautiful track by art-rock band ''Stems", it was so wonderful to share my work with my home town, and tread the boards only too familiar. I performed many times on that very stage as a teenager, and it was lovely to be back there. My emotions heightened from the shave itself, I felt so connected with Astrid, the audience and the music throughout the performance, made even more special by our matching bald heads.

The support for this cause has been absolutely astounding. I really can not thank everyone enough for their generosity and their enthusiasm. Donations came from all over the world and I am so incredibly grateful. Thank you to all my sponsors. You know who you are!

For those of you following Astrid's journey, the video clip for "Stems" is just about finished! Stay tuned!
